Penelope Cruz was born April 28, 1974 in Madrid, Spain.  Beginning her career as a dancer she studied classical ballet for nine years at Spain's National Conservatory.  At 15 she got into acting and began in Spanish films.  Moving into English language films, she has appeared in such hits as Blow and Vanilla Sky in 2001.
